There was a sudden tension in the air. Even Kai stiffened beside me. I bet he wasn't expecting Mr Vale's abrupt disapproval. 

“Mr Vale,“ Kai says carefully. “You haven't even heard—“ 

“I've heard enough, Kai and I don't like surprises“ He responds. “Especially one that involves leadership“

“Mr Vale, I don't intend to change your mind but may I have a word with you?“ I asked.

“Kai, please kindly dismiss your secretary“
