“Grayson. What the hell are you doing here?” Davin barked, gun aimed straight between Grayson’s eyes.
“Hey—slow down,” Grayson said calmly, lifting his hands.
“I won’t ask you again,” Davin cocked the gun.
“Davin, stop—please!” Tessa rushed in front of Grayson, spreading her arms.
“Tessa, get out of the way,” Davin commanded.
“No. He’s not here to hurt me.” She said.
“Then why is he here?” Davin asked bluntly, raising the gun slightly higher.
“Can we go inside? Please.” Tessa said, almost pleading. “ Let’s just go in—”
“Step away from him, Tessa,” Davin ordered. “That’s the only way I’ll listen.”
