I closed my eyes, offering a silent prayer before stepping through the door.

If Lady Valeria was in here, I was about to find out. And if she wasn't… well, I was already too far in to back out now.

The room had a completely different energy from the other ones I passed by earlier.

The large space was divided into two halves. The part I was standing in was simple. Almost empty. Stone floor, plain walls, a few potted flowers set in the corners. No furniture or decoration. It felt like a waiting room, but for something I didn't understand.
