I pushed the last branches aside and burst into the clearing where Samantha stood, frozen in shock.

At first, I thought something bad had happened to her… Seeing the bloodstains and the strange markings on the trees, I was dangerously close to losing my mind.

But something inside me refused to give up, so instead of letting my fears get the better of me, I cleared my head, followed my instinct, and continued searching until I eventually picked up her scent, which led me here.

But this Samantha, standing in front of me, had pale skin, dark circles beneath her eyes, and twigs tangled in her hair....
