“What do you mean by he's missing?” Elder Thalos barked.

The guard swallowed hard before speaking. “We've searched the entire manor, but there is no trace of him; it seems like he's already left".

He hesitated. “But… We found this letter. On his desk".

Elder Thalos held his hand out. “What does the letter say?"

The guard looked embarrassed. “I... I didn't read it, sir"

Elder Thalos snatched the letter from his hand and quickly read through it. When he finally looked up, his face was blank.

Elder Jerome leaned in. “Well, what does it say?"

“The Deputy Regent… has departed to the Federation”. He announced.

Silence
