"How long are you going to keep doing that?" I asked, as Samantha styled her hair in front of the mirror.

"Not long", she mummbled, pulling the pin from her mouth and tying her hair back.

But how long was not long?

I couldn't help but wonder. That wad the tenth time I've asked her the same question in the last hour. Maybe more. Each time she answered the same with no actual end in sight.

I sighed and leaned back on my chair as she moved fast. Twist. Pin. smooth. One last careful look in the mirror before turning to me with a smile.
