Hindsight was a useless commodity, so I tried not to dwell too much on what I might have done differently if I'd known what would happen in the future. 

My life was falling apart. Everything I'd worked so hard to keep hidden was out in the open, just from a single statement from Mira. 

Where did I go wrong with this girl? Why couldn't she understand that everything I did, I did for her? I lied to protect her. To keep her from being killed. 

And how does she repay me? She goes and announces into the world, causing this chain reaction of problems that I couldn't stop. ...
