Doctor Collins came over later that evening without my notice. I was surprised to see because the next appointment with him was supposed to be the following day.

“But our next appointment is supposed to be tomorrow?”I demanded some explanation.

“I invited him over,” my mother said.

I don't seem to understand what is going on. What is my mother's plan with the doctor?
