Cora's POV

"What mission?" I inquired in a low voice, our gazes brushing gently against each other's skin. Suddenly, a hint of happiness became palpable in his golden eyes as a broad smile formed on his lips.

Although there was nothing funny about the situation, at least not to me, I couldn't help but wonder why he was smiling like he had just won the lottery. I raised my brows above my hairline, feeling a little irritated by his strange behavior.

I shot a confused stare in his direction as I placed my arm below my breast, while I dimmed my eyes at his face, watching him keenly....
