The maids had to push Fiona's door open when they had knocked several times but still got no answer. When they came in, they found her fast asleep on the cold ground not too far from the door. Trails of dried tears had stained her cheeks and she looked like a mess. The night dress she was in was torn and she was half naked on the floor.
