Day one.
The work of the future queen of Narnia.
Giotto.
Let's forget the little mishap in my life. That stain that makes my whole wonderful self, be spoiled. I still can't believe how it's possible that my... father. Of course, I should call him that because it was him who fathered me together with the witch of a woman that is my mother.
Unbelievable that she abandoned me to go off with a man when I was only one month old.
But who are we to judge?
I am perfect enough to judge her. Because I admit it, I didn't miss her. I have more mothers, but it did hurt to feel unwanted.
“No one wants you,” I look at the blob in my life from the top down. “You only cause anxiety and stress. Just looking at you makes me nauseous.”
I smile sideways.
“At least in my company I force them to respect me because if they don’t, I fire them,” I stroke my chin. “Your parents came to me, begging me to teach you about the reality of life because in your country they hate you.”
“No one hates me,” he throws the papers on my desk, “Don't think I'm happy to be stuck here with you.
I get up from the chair and walk slowly to face her.
“I'm perfect enough to fuck up your existence and if I call your daddy to tell him I'm firing you, your pretty fairy tale is over, Alexia,” I stare at her, her look of hatred and face full of anger filling my soul.
I'm an asshole and I love doing this.
“I'll make your life miserable too. Don't think it's going to stay like this. I'm not your plaything, I'm a human being who depends on...”
“My excellent good will not to send you back to never-never land," I mock.
“I hate you, you're not perfect, you're just a jerk who has a bigger ego than the rest of the assholes who have money!” He walks past me tapping me on the shoulder, stops, sighs and turns to look at me, "Tell me how I get to my apartment?”
“I think you forgot to say the magic words, your highness,” I raise an eyebrow and my sight travels to his small hands, which were balled into fists. “Behave and treat me nice, I am your boss afterall.”
She closes her eyes and looks at me with so much anger, I swear, she's mad at me and I really didn't do anything to her.
“Please, can you tell me how to get to my apartment?” Her subtle, feigned voice amuses me.
“No, I can't. I have a meeting and I just don't feel like telling you. Wait until I'm done and I'll have my secretary tell you where you live," I walk back to my chair. “What are these papers about, Alexia?”
She smiles like a crazy woman.
“Oh, they're the papers on how you can go fuck yourself,” she walks out of the office, slamming the door loudly.
Who does this woman think she is?
I come out after her and see her moving like a bat out of hell. Everyone starts to look at me and I'm about to lose my mind because of what this woman just did.
“Let this be the last time you close my door like that,” I tell her when I grab her arm. “Do you understand, Alexia?”
“I am Lady Alexia! Don't touch me, you are a mere commoner who has no manners, let alone any idea how to treat a lady!” she shouted, shaking my hand from her arm.
“You are in my place of business, keep your voice down!” I answered him in the same way. “You told me to fuck off, that's not what a lady does. So you get used to my rules or get the fuck out.”
Her breathing quickens and swallowing thickly she yells at me again.
Fucking women.
“Just tell me the address of my apartment!” She walks back to the elevator.
“Stop, Alexia,” he ignores me, “Stop and listen to me when I'm talking to you!”
“You're a stupid macho backward chauvinist,” he pushes the elevator button harder, “I don't work on this floor so I'm out of here!”
I smile, go to one of the cubicles, pick up a phone and dial human resources, say a few things and they quickly agree.
It's good to be the boss.
“Now it is,” he turns and gives me his best terrified look, “You're no longer a designer or whatever it is you used to do. From now on you're my personal assistant.”
“What?” She looks sideways for help.
“Go get your stuff and in 13 minutes that's what any ordinary human being does, grabs their stuff and come back to me,” the elevator doors open and I point them out to her. “See you in 13 minutes for your assistance, Alexia.”
“Lady Alexia!” she corrected me.
This woman is unbearable and I'm beginning to think she has a bad temper. She is immature and disrespectful. She reminds me of myself when I was a little boy. I grew up being the best and have been able to change a bit. I’m more humble, more focused, kinder and a reasonable human being.
Who am I kidding? Ha, but it's just that talking about me fills my heart with joy.

Watching the hyena I will soon have in my apartment, I must know how to handle it. It pisses me off that she ignores me and belittles my presence.
“Lukyan, do you think I have a problem with my personality or something in me?” My friend looks at me like I'm crazy. “Forget it, most likely you won't find anything.”
“Did the princess bring you problems?” I sigh in reply, “There's nothing wrong with you. To be honest, there's nothing that doesn't stand out about you. You are an excellent boss, businessman, human being and the best friend we can have.”
“Right? Although we are like cousins, but I get the point. So why is this girl putting me down? She's the second woman to do it and it's getting to me, bro. It's a stain that's weighing me down and telling me I must be failing. It's unbelievable that someone like me would feel this way and have any wrongdoing,” I tell him frustrated.
“The woman is spoiled. Just remind her who's in charge and assert your will. Dominate her and if she wants freedom, let her fight for it,” he sneers.
“She called me a retrograde chauvinist” I get indignant.
“Giotto, you're 35 years old, but you're acting like a child. She's just another employee. Find a way to show her that you're her boss. It's not like you're going to play submissive and dominant. It's just that if you open your mouth, who knows where she'll end up with that temper and bad attitude. Because she's not fit to be a queen.”
“It makes me sick that she doesn't see me like the others. It makes me rethink a lot of things and pisses me off that she responds to me the same way she does. What does it cost her to be an obedient employee?” I lean back in my $50,000 chair. It was made specifically for me, since I get back pain so often, from the exercise I do and the extra hours I put in here at the office.
It was on sale and I took advantage of it.
“She grew up in an environment that made her think she is special. You just have to teach her humility and how to be sociable. We can show her that, but she's not too keen on being friendly with you.”
“I think we got off to a bad start. We'll try again in the morning and in a civilized way, I'll let her know that she's acting very badly and I'm not going to tolerate it.” My office windows are smoked glass, which allows me to see my employees, but they can't see me because it bothers me to be seen.
“You're going to become obsessed with that woman. First, it was the girl from the kindergarten and now, it's going to be her. Why don't you just leave her alone to hate you as she does?”
“Because before she met me, I already hating her for coming here to damage my perfect world,” I watch her sit down in an empty cubicle, which now belongs to her. “I'm going to introduce her to the rest of the staff.”
“Let her introduce herself, Gio,” I give him a dirty look. “Okay, I get it. This is a war between you two. You're definitely as sick as she is. It's going to be fun to see you two in this idiot scheme.”
“Leave me alone,” I say annoyed.
“And miss the show? Never, that's not what friends are for” I get up from my place to go with the rest of the employees.
“I just want to make you see who's in charge in this company, Lukyan.”
“They only sent her here to learn about real life," we started to laugh. “Don't get obsessed. You've been looking for years for that girl who traumatized your childhood and you still can't find her. Now this woman comes along and you become obsessed with her in your adult life. A third one is missing for you to be damaged by old age and die alone like an abandoned animal.”
“But I'm rich and I’m beautiful,” I let out a laugh at the serious look on his face. “Just kidding, but come on, get out of here and let's go introduce the beast from Finland.”
We left my office and silence invaded the hallway. There were about 5 cubicles on my floor plus my friend's office and mine. I didn't like the noise or the people, I wanted peace at all times and so, I asked these people not to talk unless it was necessary. My secretary, his assistant, Lukyan's secretary, his assistant and my personal assistant.
I still don't know what I will do with her.
“I'll be brief because time is money and I don't want to waste any of it," Luk laughs. “Well, we have a new employee. She will be my personal assistant and her name is Alexia.”
“Lady Alexia,” she corrects me.
“Lady Alexia from Finland. Treat her like she’s one of you. Here the only one with privileges are Luk and me” I turn to see her, and yes, she is already angry. “Well, I introduced you, now get to work.”
“Child,” she complains.
“Mr. Marchetti, but you already have a personal assistant, what can we do for Lady Alexia? She belongs to royalty and we don't want to cause problems.”
I look obviously to my secretary.
“My personal assistant becomes your personal assistant. Give Alexia all the work that my assistant had and let her assist me. Explain everything to her, she is a very capable woman to perform the tasks that you give her and will not cause problems with the royalty.” I smile, “Work is work regardless of titles. So you have the rest of the day to explain that to her. I have a meeting with my mother and I hope that when I return everything will be in order.”
She nods and I decide to end the introductions.
“You're so petty, Giotto and I love it” Luk and I head for the elevator, someone's quick footsteps behind us making me look over my shoulder.
“The address of my apartment, please?” I turn and see Alexia. “I must tell the royal guard to take my things to my new home. He must return to Finland to be with his family.”
For a second I saw a hint of sadness in her eyes, but it was so fleeting, I didn't have time to figure out why.
Feelings?
“In the planner that my former assistant will give you, you will find it. Find it and give it to the royal guard, but you can't leave here until the end of your working day.” I look at her seriously.
“Well, thank you,” she said, and left.
Interesting.
“Giotto, no,” he smiled at Luk's answer. “I told you not to get obsessed, brother.”
“We have to investigate Lady Alexia and the royal guard's family,” I enter the elevator and look at her as she is concentrating on searching in the agenda for what I told her.
I have a lot of time to have fun.
The stain that came to interrupt my peace, seems to have a weak spot.
The rich one fell in love with the poor one.
How amusing.
