I stood in the infirmary as Letty's parents and Yuri's mother waited for the doctor. "Son-in-law," Maya's mother greeted me.

"Mother," I replied quietly. She offered a warm smile in response.

"Freya, we're supposed to care for our daughter. Don't interact with him," Maya's father, Terrance, said with disdain as he glanced at me. Upon learning about Maya's death, he held me responsible.

When the doctor emerged from the emergency room, Terrance asked anxiously, "How is Letty?"
