James can't believe his eyes when he realizes it's a bouquet of flowers. A bouquet of white roses.

“You were right,” Alena tells him, “I really wasn't in love with you, I was confused”. James nods slowly. He was right about that.

Alena is beautiful and kind. She is perfect. She would fit perfectly in his arms. But James has already lost her once, he doesn't want to risk it again.

He's done with trying to prove himself to her. If he has to wait till Alena falls in love with him, James is fine with that. He loves her too much to let her go again.
