Emma's POV

"We're moving out " I announced to Lucia.

"Why ?'' she asked, standing up from where she was sitting and standing before me.

"Because it's for the best " I replied, no knowing what to say to her

"Is that even an answer ?" she asked twitching her head

"I guess" I replied

"Where are we going to ?" she asked again

"To a better place " I, replied

"Really ?" She asked

"Yeah"

"You got us an apartment" she, asked

"Someone offered us an apartment and it's far better than this " I tried convincing her

"Okay " she, said slowly still in doubt but it was better that way.

" So will you help me pack ?" I asked her

"Yeah, sure" she replied and was about start to start she turned to me again.

I wondered what she wants to ask again. She's so inquisitive

"What Lucia ?" I asked first instead

"Am I still going to continue attending my school ?" she asked

I know she has never liked going to that school and I also know that she was only coping because she didn't want to bother me since that was the one I could afford. She was always being considerate.

I'll see what I can do about that.

"I don't know yet Lucia. If things get better, I'll change your school " I replied to her and she smiled.

Did I forget that I lost the new job I took?

I'll try to get another one.

Can I be working while training to be an assassin

I don't think my soon-to-be boss is gonna allow that.

But if I don't, how am I going to continue paying Lucia's fees

My soon-to-be boss looks very wealthy.

The house I had gone to is more like a mansion because of how large it was and the interior, though I hadn't looked around.

"All done " Lucia exhaled

"And I'm ready" she added

We were about to leave when I heard a knock.

"I'll be right back," I said to Lucia and went to answer.

I opened the door and saw a guy, kinda hefty. His abs showed through the black shirt he wore and black pants too with a black fez cap.

"Hello. How may I help you ?" I asked him with folded arms and resting slightly against the door.

"Boss asked me to come to pick you " he simply answered

"Pardon ?" I said

Boss?

How did he know my place

Oh, he told me that he had about me even before the day he saved me.

That's kinda rude though but I shrugged the thought away.

"Boss Marcos asked me to drive you," he said

"Okay, thanks" I replied.

"Please give me few seconds" I quickly added and went in to call Lucia and bring her outside.

"I'll help you with that" he offered and helped me to carry it inside the car.

Soon, we were done. We don't have many things.

The car looked expensive.

I looked at Lucia and I could tell she was kinda happy but still confused.

We arrived there. Boss asked someone to show us to our room.

"Wow !" Lucia exclaimed.

It was very large.

"So here we are, " I said to Lucia and she smiled.

"So you're going to be starting your training very soon but first I'll introduce you to everyone as well as the recruits, " Boss said

"Come with me," he said after telling the guy who drove me there to tell everyone to assemble.

I walked with him until we came to another large room which looked like a living room but was different from the one at the first entrance.

There were about ten others.

Both male and female.

"I need your attention everyone " he announced and that he got.

"This is a new trainee. That means she'll be part of us " he said with a stern voice.

I noticed something about him, I don't smile.

He always maintained a stern face.

Will he ever smile?

That's none of my business.

I observed the faces of everyone there. Most of the guys had a normal expressions. A girl waved at me and beamed with a smile. There was this other girl who caught my attention with her glare.

I wondered what was the cause of it.

"Did she know me before ?" I asked myself.

That's none of my business too.

"Emma " Lucia called when she woke up, rubbing her face with her palm.

She just woke up from a short nap.

"Yes " I answered

"Do you want anything ?" I asked her

"Yes, I'm hungry. Can you please get something for me to eat ?" she asked politely.

"Sure" I replied, closing the novel I was reading on the reading table.

I enjoyed reading.

"I'll be back soon," I said to her before walking out.

It wasn't difficult locating the kitchen.

When I got there, I saw three girls in the kitchen.

"Hi," I said before opening the refrigerator.

I found contained food inside and brought it out to microwave it.

Just as I was about to turn, I brushed my shoulders with someone and it was the girl who was glaring at me earlier.

"Are you blind ?" she asked with disgust.

Really?

She's one of a kind.

I'm very sure she was the one who purposely did that.

I was tempted to retaliate but I held myself.

This is a new place and I should show good behavior at least on the first day.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," I said with a fake smile.

She just hissed and stumped out of the kitchen.

Seriously, what's her problem?

"That's how she is sometimes and today is also not a good day for her" the one who I realized to be friendly. She was the one who beamed a smile at me and waved at me earlier said.

"Oh, did I say that out loud ?" I asked

"Yeah" she replied with a chuckle

"I'm sorry," I said

"It's okay" she replied.

"She's very mad today because Boss is disappointed in her. She failed in her last mission..." she was saying until we heard :

"Will you stop blabbering about me to her ?" the rude girl said, she was in the corridor.

"Sorry," she said and quickly faced what she was doing.

She looked scared of her.

Seriously, she's got a weird attitude.

Can I even keep up with her?
