Marksman stepped out of the air-conditioned building and into the sweltering Melbourne summer heat. He’d done it. He’d sat for the detective’s exam and now all he could do was wait to see if he passed. That was probably going to be harder than the exam.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and powered it on. His screen lit up with a multitude of notifications. Well-wishes from his family and friends, but also Amelia had blown up his phone with messages he couldn’t get his brain to comprehend. There were also a whole lot of Google alerts with Abigail’s name.
