Mia nodded. “I’m good,” she replied.

Amelia nodded once and then the door closed behind her, leaving the two of them alone.

Willison watched Mia as she fiddled with her coffee cup, her eyes down and avoiding him. These were not good signs for how this ‘talk’ would go.
