“I hate this fucking town,” she mumbled into his chest.

A chuckle rumbled in his chest and he drew her tighter against his chest.

“No, you don’t,” he said.

“Okay, but I hate all the people in it,” she replied, taking another deep breath of him.

“You don’t hate me,” he said gently, tipping her face up to his. “And you don’t hate Trina, and despite how much of a dickhead he is being, you don’t hate your brother either.”

“I don’t like him at the moment, though,” she said.
