Marksman POV

Marksman exhaled slowly and tucked her closer to his body. “Sara and I are just friends. She was there for me through some rough times.” He tucked a finger under Ember’s chin and tilted her face up to his. “Nothing is going on between Sara and I and there never has been.”

Ember searched his eyes. She wanted to believe him…and she did, but she couldn’t completely disregard the way Sara was earlier tonight.

“I think she has a thing for you,” Ember said, realising hitting her.

Marksman scoffed. “Doubtful,” he replied. “It’s never been like that between us. I promise. Our relationship is completely platonic.”
