Willison shrugged. “I’m taking a little break from dating,” he said.
“The ladies must be pining away without you,” Therese said, grinning at him, a sparkle in her eye.
“Hardly,” Willison replied. “This job is keeping me too busy to scratch myself.”
Therese opened her mouth to say something, and John automatically covered it with his hand. “Remember the children, dear,” he said.
Therese laughed. Willison liked Therese. She was irreverent and loud and livened up their family dinners, often regaling them all with the goings on at the local hairdressers where she worked part-time.
