Caution

With Oscar lying unconscious, and Herbert afraid, Ryan closes his eyes and embraces the both of them as he hears the woman rush closer. Suddenly, he hears cars honking behind them. And when he turns back, he finds that he's still inside the car. Oscar is asleep in the backseat and Herbert is at the wheel lost in his own thoughts. Ryan sits there in disbelief for a few seconds, but then passes it off as some crazy dream.

Shaking Herbert, he says, “Hey, uncle. What's wrong? Why are you frozen like that?”

“ You saw her too, didn’t you? She was in front of me. I hit the brakes. She is coming for us. She's not your friend at the bus stand. Now I think she has followed us. She will come all the way to the house as well,” Herbert says not bothered about the cars he is holding back.

Ryan asks Herbert to switch seats with him to take the wheel. As they drive ahead, Oscar asks him to tell him what happened all those years ago. In a serious tone, Herbert starts telling them about how 18 years ago the sheriff at the time, Sheriff Mason had convinced everyone in the town to have that woman, Caroline Crimson, beaten and burned at the stake. No one knew why they had to stone her but they all followed his word. The townsfolk followed blindly even when most of them knew what they were doing was wrong. Some of them believed that no human should have to go through what Caroline Crimson went through, but out of fear of going against the majority. No one spoke up. Herbert tells Ryan that Jeffrey was the first person to be killed. There was nothing random about it. Jeffrey was the sheriff at the time and was the one that put the stake on fire. In her dying breaths, Caroline had vowed to get vengeance. First it was Jeffrey the year following that, Sheriff Mason lost his life.

The same day, in what they call the free car accident, and ever since then 16 others directly involved have died. Hearing the story, Ryan stays silent and keeps his eyes on the road. He starts questioning his beliefs, especially since he himself saw the same dream. He felt the same fear run down his spine. At the same time, nothing makes sense to him. He always believed that there are no such things as ghosts or demons, but these first hours of his arrival back home have questioned everything he believes in.

Herbert adds to the story and tells them how a week after the sheriff’s death, his wife and son were found drowned in their own backyard pool. The few people that immediately jumped into the pool to take their body out each felt their eyes itch, as if they had jumped into an acid pool, leading them to turn blind. In the end, they had to be dragged out of the water using the cleaning sticks, a very humiliating way to be dealt with.

He tells them that there have been numerous sightings of her across the town throughout the passing years, and wherever she has been, she leaves behind a pool of blood. That's why the news and most townsfolk have named her Crimson Bride. When the bodies of the deceased are found, the people that found them said that they heard a whisper tell them not to perform the final funeral rites, or else they would face the consequences.

In the town's parish, a priest reformed the burial of the deceased and prayed over them. There was a huge storm in the sky. Later that day, the priest was found dead in his chambers, with his body contorted into the shape of an ‘o’, laying in a pool of his blood. Herbert says in a serious tone.

As he keeps listening, Ryan suddenly hears a woman's voice from Herbert's mouth saying, “Your marriage will not go through. I will not let it happen.” Ryan immediately turns around and looks at Herbert who is still talking. He realizes that he has heard this voice before the voice he heard in his dreams. A few hours ago. Not wanting to make matters worse, he decides not to trouble Harvard again. So it does not tell him what he just heard. Glancing at the rear mirror of the car, Ryan is shocked when he sees the woman from the dream sitting beside Oscar who is fast asleep.

“Your wedding will not happen. I will make sure,” the woman whispers with an evil smile as she gently pats Oscar’s head.

Almost immediately after hearing this, Ryan slams the brakes of the car. He is knocked unconscious as his head hits the steering wheel. He slowly opens his eyes and finds himself now on his bed at home. He tries to sit up on his own, but is immediately helped up by Amy, who offers him a glass of water. Hearing that he has woken up, Herbert rushes to his room and asked him what had happened and tells Ryan how he was shocked when he hit the brakes all of a sudden. Ryan, not wanting to believe what he saw, tells him that it was probably because of how exhausted he was.

“Son don't mind me saying this, but I do not believe you. I told you that we must not go there so late at night. We should have waited for daybreak. Luckily, wasn't anything that serious. Just a small bump to the head, Herbert says.

“It's okay uncle. I'm fine. But I still have a slight headache. Drag me to the doc, will you?” Ryan asks holding his head and groaning slightly.

Amy helps him up and gets him into the car with Herbert who was in the driver's seat. On their way, they drive along the boundaries of a huge mansion. Inquisitively, Ryan asks Herbert about the big mansion they're driving by. He explains that this was the house the old Sheriff would live with his family and the mansion has been empty ever since his wife and son were found drowned.

Suddenly, the engine of the car starts making noise and the car comes to a halt. Herbert is panicking as this is not a good place for them to be stranded. Looking at him stress out, Ryan asks Herbert if he is okay. Herbert tells him that as the years have gone by, almost close to 100 people have died on this road under mysterious circumstances. Hearing this, Ryan starts worrying while Herbert opens the car hatch to check what is the problem with the engine.

While this is happening, Oscar walks up to the boundary and reads the sign on it.

“Do not touch that child. It won't be good for any of us. They say that the soul of the crimson bride roams around this area at this time of the year. She preys on people stranded here just as she felt stranded and preyed upon all those years ago when she was attacked,” Herbert warns as he walks closer to him.

Ryan coming out of the car then tells him that he has called for the towing service and that they will give them a ride back home. Within the next 10 minutes, the tow truck arrives and tows their car back to the house. As they reach home. Ryan's mother, Tracy comes out and starts shouting at him saying,

“ I told you to stay in at night. Look at how badly hurt you are. I told you it's not safe to go out at night.”

“ But mum, it's fine. Not hurt that bad. Just a couple of bruises here and there and plus, Uncle Herbert was with me. So I don't think any ghosts can mess with me when he's around,” Ryan smiles and says.

“Herbert. What are you saying? He was here in the morning when I came searching for you.”
