After making sure Kate felt more comfortable and safe in the hospital room, I stepped outside for a moment to contact Andi. Feelings of anxiety and worry still filled my mind, but I knew that we had to immediately find out who was behind Kate's kidnapping.

I took my cell phone and dialed Andi's number. The dial tone rang several times before he finally answered.

"Andi, this is Erlan. Any new news?" I asked matter-of-factly, my voice tense.
