Adrian sighed. "We can try, Darwis, but based on the information I got, they don't seem to have any intention of negotiating. They want to make sure Kayra gets the punishment she deserves."

I rubbed my face with my hands, feeling frustrated. "We have to try, Adrian. I can't put Kayra through all this, especially if she's pregnant."
