Daria's POV

 

I ran out of the archive with Maive behind me. Someone had shouted outside near the healers' tent. My stomach felt sick before I even got to the entrance. I knew that voice and could recognize it anywhere anytime.  It was Harriet's nurse.

 

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me and Maive and Lucuis followed suit. I pushed through the tent flap. My heart stopped. Harriet was standing in the middle of the tent. Her hands were glowing silver. The ground under her feet was cracked. It was like the earth was answering something inside her. The healers were backing away, too afraid to come
