“In the late afternoon like this, the city park feels like it has its own little world,” Arga said, slipping both hands into the pockets of his jacket.

Vania glanced toward the thick trees surrounding the walking path. The golden rays of the setting sun streamed through gaps in the leaves, casting patterns of light across the ground. Small birds darted past now and then, and the afternoon air felt softer than usual.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been here,” Vania said quietly.

“Maybe because you’ve been busy,” Arga replied, his eyes studying her face. “Or maybe… you forgot places like this existed.”
