"I can walk on my own, Devandra! It’s not like I’m seriously hurt!" Vania snapped as the man forced her to sit in the clinic's waiting chair.

"Sit down and be quiet. You might be stubborn, but I’m not taking any chances," Devandra replied, his voice low but firm. He knelt in front of her, examining her scraped ankle from the earlier fall.

Vania let out a sigh. Her heart was a mess, her mind spinning in all directions. She never imagined ending up in a tiny clinic with the man who once shattered her world.
