I woke up to the rays of the sun as I rubbed my eyes slightly before trying to sit up, but I realized someone else was beside me. My eyes widened to see Brittany sleeping peacefully by my side.

What happened? How come she was with me on the couch? Didn't she sleep in the bedroom last night? Different questions popped in my head with no answers.

Just as if my movements woke her up from her quiet sleep, her eyes suddenly fluttered open, and she sat up immediately, leaving my side to stand on her feet. I felt empty all of a sudden.

“You're awake.”...
