No part of me wanted to leave Kate alone, but I couldn’t let her continue to be threatened and made to live in fear. I would make her safe again if it was the last thing I did.

My driver was already waiting on the curb where he dropped us off a week ago. I moved quickly to get in the car before I lost my nerve.

“Jacques and the others will meet us at the location, Monsieur.”
