Kat had thrown herself into the monumental task of planning a large society wedding. Their engagement was scheduled for a year. James showed no interest in helping, which I saw as an opportunity for me. Errands and wedding planning were a built-in excuse for Kat to get away for play time. So on top of our two or three weekly trysts, I started brainstorming additional meetings that Kat could cover under the guise of wedding preparation. It allowed me to be creative and push her boundaries. When I could do that, I felt much more in control of our affair, and that's something I wanted to continually increase.
