{Lisa’s POV}
The first thing I felt wasn’t the sun. Or the sheets. It was eyes.
Tiny, quiet eyes.
I opened mine slowly, still fogged up by sleep, and found a little girl kneeling at the side of the bed, her chin resting on the mattress. She blinked up at me, wide-eyed and still.
I sat up abruptly.
“Oh—”
She didn’t flinch. But then, like a switch flipped, she scurried away without a word, her small feet barely making a sound on the floor as she slipped out through the door.
“Ronannnn. Who's the girl?” I called.
His voice came from somewhere outside the room. “I'm here. Just come out...
