I nodded slightly.

“I'll make sure to put that in mind.”

Mrs. Jocelyn half smiled, crossing her legs over as she took a sip from her espresso. Her eyes fixed outside on the bustling street, taking in the honking cars and everything this view had to offer. All the while stirring her espresso calmly.

I sighed, my shoulders slumped.

“Roughly a week is all that's left before the D-Day. I can feel my heart plunge into my stomach. The feeling is overwhelming.”
