Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Lily jumped up and immediately put the gun back on its base with a shaking hand. The voice that had just risen in the room was even more mature than in his memories, more hoarse, the accent of which had not changed. In the depths of her being, Lily would have given anything to be somewhere else. That wasn't how she wanted to meet him and certainly not looking like a thief.

Her heart was pounding so loudly in her temples that she couldn't even hear the music anymore. No doubt it was him, only she couldn't find the strength to turn around to confront him.

Neither him nor his green eyes.

- Let's go ? Look at me !

Lily turned around in slow motion and discreetly shoved her hand into her bag.

She had to face a scene even more terrifying than in her memories. The shadows cast by the ceiling lights made him more imposing than she would have imagined, her blood froze when she saw only his leather shoes and the beginning of his pants.

- How did you get in?

Images then assaulted her, when he had spoken to her with that same frightening slowness. He was making the moment difficult by staying hidden in the shadows, perhaps willingly assuming to scare her.

Should she tell him that she already was and had been for six years?

- The guard was not watching, my curiosity pushed me to enter. She said with a hint of irony in her voice.

When he didn't answer, Lily clutched her self-defense bomb while trying to make out his silhouette from his dark corner.

- And you? I didn't hear you come in.

- That's because I was already... inside when you came in. He said with a hint of irony in his voice.

She suppressed a gasp.

What ?

- What but... how? Do you often find yourself in the dark?

He laughed so softly that she only caught a few crumbs.

- Only when you enter my office unevenly.

Finally, torn between fear and impatience, Lily watched him slowly emerge from the shadows, hands in his pockets.

She tried to suppress the shiver that crept through his veins when he stood proud and stronger than ever in the shadows.

She heard a growl and then he pushed her to sink herself against the cabinet when he moved forward to block her.

Prisoner, Lily understood the importance of the danger only when she saw it completely under the light.

Twenty-six years old he was when he was kidnapped.

Today she had to face a formidable man, in a dark suit whose broad and muscular shoulders were just waiting to be delivered.

His eyes were greener than ever, his thick eyebrows barred his gaze.

- I didn't want to... Lily murmured seeing him approaching dangerously.

He scrutinized her impassively, motionless as a statue of ice.

She remembered everything, the few memories she had forgotten suddenly resurfaced.

- You didn't want to but you did it anyway? May I know the reason for your coming?

Lily swallowed as his guttural voice immobilized all her senses.

- I just opened a blog, I studied journalism and I wanted to interview you.

He raised an eyebrow, Lily decided to look down at his dark shirt to give herself the strength to resume.

- The waitress told me that you were going to refuse, I wanted to make sure she was telling the truth or if it was a way for her to get rid of me.

- I don't give interviews.

- And why ? I am not a journalist.

He sketched a smile that said a lot about his thoughts.

- In fact, you don't look like one, all the more reason not to trust you, little girl...

He pulled back, darting an intense, shameless gaze down her legs and then her upper chest.

Distraught, Lily thought of leaving but an indomitable force pushed her to stay.

- First of all, I'm not a little girl, she retorted as he left to settle in his chair. And second, I do not see why you refuse me this interview while the whole world knows who you once were a few years.

He laughed throat before performing a jaw set, sign that he was annoyed.

Lily came over and put his hands on the chair.

- And who I was I beg you?

- A killer.

He sat up and leaned his hands crossed desktop, without ever taking his eyes.

- And who told you that I'm still not one? He whispered.

Lily caught narrowly to cry ... the same six years ago.

- I do not know, I guess ...

- You assume? He snapped, sinking into his seat.

Lily felt a warmth flood his body when he inspired by swelling his chest. His green eyes gleamed fun.

- You should leave miss, you have not made the right choice in coming here.

Vladimir watched the young woman decompose nicely. He seized this opportunity to take the time to contemplate. Straight out of a painting by Sandro Botticelli known for its famous work of art as the birth came, she looked with a slight carelessness.

God it was delicious! Jura there looking at his fleshy mouth imprint of a lipstick cherry innocently called to be kissed. She had a slight figure, a skin like porcelain, delicate hands and fingers so thin that he swore that one could beat him easily. He easily guessed that her legs were slender, her black dress unattractive emphasized her perfect body, on his chest ... Vladimir put there an impenetrable look to better digest the power they had.

He slowly raised his eyes to hers, hidden under a veil mesh.

Black eyelashes unfold like the wings of a crow, they almost touched the veil, and her eyes were definitely be black, as black as his hair.

A true masterpiece prohibited.

- By the way how did you get in? This event was by invitation and I do not remember giving you a box?

She shrugged.

- Your security officer did not ask me to show me he simply enter.

Vladimir went the thumb on his lips at the thought of returning it.

She did not move, without a word, only raised his little chin white all for defying look. Only, she did not realize she was blushing.

Vladimir stood up, grabbed his mask and decided, tired it was time for him to stop torturing only to his good pleasure.

- Go now, go and enjoy the bar since you're here.

Obviously disappointed, she clutched her bag, looked down when he opened the door to let her out gallantly first.

At the door, she looked up.

- I had hoped that you would remember me. She whispered in a shaky voice.

- I beg your pardon ?

She touched her hair nervously.

- I probably changed a lot I ...

She paused, hesitating.

- I'm Lily, the girl you brought to the US Embassy, the girl to whom you asked to count to twenty, the day of my birthday.
