Lily’s POV

I squeezed my eyes shut tight waiting for the truck to smash into me but instead a strong hand grabbed the back of my gown and yanked me backward hard. 

My body slammed straight into a solid chest and my face pressed against warm fabric that smelled like him. Alexander. 

My heart was still hammering so loud I could hear it in my ears and my legs felt like they might give out any second.

His arms locked around me keeping me pinned against him while the truck horn blared past us and tires screeched.
