Tonight was another lonely one for me as I sat up in my room, with Aurora in my arms feeding her.
My hands moved gently, rocking Aurora back and forth as I tried to calm her cries. Her tiny face scrunched up, her small fists waving in the air as she wailed, refusing to eat anymore.
My heart ached with empathy, suddenly remembering the countless nights I'd spent like this, trying to soothe my own tears away in that cold, dark room. But now, I was a comforter.
