My life had gone downhill in the twinkle of an eye. The very one I have been trying to build for myself.

“....Your services are no longer needed here”, my pupils dilated, the news caused a shock throughout my body, staring at his pursed lips unbelievably.

“but you said the company was short of workers!”, I strongly protested after catching my breath, making my way around the long conference table, standing right in front of him.

I could not accept this! Just few months ago, my promotion was still being discussed. I was almost there…at the top of the ladder.

My lips uncontrollably quivered, with the tears breaking...
