ELERA POV

"Elera!"

A powerful force slammed into me. Strong hands seized my shoulders and yanked me backward with brutal strength. My grip broke. I stumbled several steps before crashing hard onto the stone ground, pain shooting through my back and elbows as my body struck the floor. For a moment the world spun around me.

By the time I lifted my head, Aiden was already kneeling beside Evelyn, one arm wrapped protectively around her trembling body, the other stroking her hair as though she were the victim. His crimson eyes burned with fury as they locked onto mine.
