Only after she saw Jasmine nodding, Ryder started to elaborate. “Some guy broke into my backyard last night at midnight.”

Ryder hadn’t even finished the sentence when all color left Jasmine’s face the moment she heard the words “broke in”. By the time Ryder had finished talking, Jasmine had already patted her all over the body, lifting her sleeves and checking her neck, personal space be damned. Her hands trembled. “Are you okay? Did he do anything to you? Are you hurt? Where does it hurt?”
