"Let go of me." Adrianna yelled in fear. Her hands held onto the hand around her neck.

She tried to drag the hand away from her neck but it only got worse.

"You can't overpower me, you witch." Roman's cousin, Lisa, said in a sinister tone and Adrianna gasped. Lisa's strength was too great and she wasn't like Lucy who couldn't even fight for herself.

How could Adrianna compare to Lisa's strength?

Adrianna couldn't see what was happening as the hallway was too dark. However, she felt that Lisa's voice was incredibly familiar but she couldn't remember when and where she had heard it.

"L-let go of me…" Adrianna managed to say. Her senses were heightened in the dark and she felt pain like never before. It felt like her life force was being sucked out.

Her eyes rolled and at the moment she was about to pass out, Lisa let her go and she burst into a fit of coughs.

"What the hell is going on here?" Roman yelled as the lights were flicked on.

Adrianna's eyes brightened at the sight of Roman. Her eyes squinted due to the lights "I-i…" She was about to explain herself but she was cut off by Lisa.

"Roman, she pushed me to the ground. I confronted her about lying to you and she claimed that she was going to take Dianne's place in your life." Lisa shouted, while sitting on the bare floor.

"You.." Adrianna managed to say. Her throat felt like it was on fire and also she didn't realize when Lisa had fallen to the ground.

"She's lying." Adrianna shouted with wide eyes and Roman frowned, deeply. Her voice was loud and shrill, making Roman irritated.

He didn't know what to believe at this point.

He turned to look at Lisa and stretched his hand toward her, "Get up." He said to Lisa and she immediately took his hand.

"She tried to kill me, Roman. She strangled me for fuck's sake." Adrianna yelled, feeling wrong. She hated getting bullied and that was what was playing out.

"Shut up. I'll never kill anyone. Why would I kill you? I don't want to have your filthy blood on my hands." Lisa clapped back as she stood to her feet. She still held onto Roman, not wanting to let go.

"She's lying. Look at the strangle marks around my neck." Adrianna said without thinking. Her skin was delicate and she was sure Lisa's hands would leave marks on her.

"What? You're perfectly okay." Lisa said and Roman squinted his eyes. His eyes zeroed in on her neck and he couldn't find any marks anywhere.

"Stop making a fuss, Dianne. There is nothing there." Roman's voice was low. He was visibly irritated at what was happening. His words struck a painful chord in Adrianna's heart and she felt weak.

On the other hand, Lisa took the opportunity to chip in more words.

"Yes, stop making a fuss. You should get out of the pack and stop acting like you're Dianne." Lisa said and then turned to Roman to say, "Calling her Dianne is an abomination."

"No…" Adrianna but she was immediately interrupted by Roman.

"Silence!" He yelled and Adrianna flinched. Her eyes darted between Roman and Dianne and she could swear that she saw a wicked smirk on Lisa's face.

But before she could say something, Roman continued, "Let's go, Lisa. I think Dianne needs to cool off."

Tears were starting to brim in Adrianna's eyes as she clutched onto her chest.

"What is happening to me?" She asked herself with a sad smile on her face.

She wasn't one to take humiliation like this but then Roman had rendered her weak.

They had a great time in the car today and she thought they would get closer, regardless of what was happening around them.

However, Adrianna realized that she had been wrong all this while.

She watched as Roman and Lisa marched away.

"Are you okay?" Roman asked and Lisa nodded sheepishly.

And then she chipped in, "You shouldn't let her stay. She is way different from the Dianne you and I know. Dianne would never push me to the floor." Lisa said and Roman sighed.

"Can you give me some time, please?" Roman asked with a slight smile on his face. He was tired of all the screaming and yelling, he just wanted to have some quiet time to himself.

However, Lisa opened her mouth to refute his request but then she was met with Roman's serious gaze.

"Alright." She said with a wronged smile on her face. She was angry and her anger was directed at Adrianna.

"She has bewitched you and that's why you don't want me around you." Lisa grumbled as she turned and walked away.

Her voice was incredibly low but Roman could still hear her clearly.

"Did she really bewitch me?" He asked himself and then turned to walk into his study.

As he got into his study, he walked toward the window and peered to look out of it.

At the doctor's office, the results stated that Adrianna was perfectly okay which got Roman worried.

"If she didn't get brain damage, how did she forget who she was?" He asked himself and he could feel his wolf snorting.

"Think deeply, you twat." His wolf said.

"What did you feel at first when you saw her, recently? Huh?" The wolf asked.

"What? I felt the mate pull. Isn't that normal? I mean I haven't seen Dianne in a long time, I would definitely miss her." Roman replied and his wolf sighed heavily.

"Have you ever felt the mate pull for Dianne like you are feeling now? Think deeply." Roman's wolf replied and Roman frowned.

"What do you mean?" Roman asked but before his wolf could say anything, he gasped in shock.

"You mean the Dianne I know now is not the Dianne I used to know. You mean that girl in there is an imposter." Roman reasoned and his wolf was surprised at this.

"No…" Roman's wolf started but Roman immediately shut him off.

He was bewildered by the conclusion he had come to and he couldn't comprehend how Adrianna would look so much like Dianne.

"What do I do?" Roman asked himself as he walked out of the study.

He wanted to see for himself if the Dianne in the pack house was really an imposter.

He noticed that the new Dianne acted way too differently from the Dianne he used to know.

Adrianna never acted docile in any way. She was quick to talk and defend herself, unlike Dianne who had been pretending.

Also, Adrianna never accepted anything Roman says, unlike Dianne who would push herself to cater to every of Roman's requests and whims. Dianne just wanted to get herself in Roman's good books.

While Roman continued to walk down the hallway, thinking about how different Adrianna was from Dianne, he spotted Adrianna curled into a ball.

She was sitting on the floor while her back rested on the wall.

"What are you doing?" Roman asked immediately. He knew the Dianne he knew would never behave so ungracefully.

On the other hand, Adrianna couldn't still comprehend what was happening to her. She had started to fall deeply in love with Roman but then his actions hurt her, greatly.

"Why do you care?" Adrianna asked back, her eyes were red and puffy.

Roman's heart clenched at the sight of her but then he shoved that feeling aside making his wolf whine.

His mind was set on the fact that she was an imposter and he wasn't ready to think otherwise or think outside the box.

He was that simple-minded.

Also, Lisa had planted her words in his mind and he was starting to think she had bewitched him.

"Get up from the bare floor and you should go take care of yourself. You look so ungraceful." Roman said, snorting.

At this point, he started to avoid looking into her eyes because he thought he was going to get bewitched again.

What a thought!!

"You don't even care about me." Adrianna said in a choked voice. She stood up to her feet and dusted her clothes.

She was starting to hate herself for acting so pathetic.

"What do you mean I don't care? If you act accordingly, of course, I would care." Roman replied with a shrug.

"You should stop making a fuss and act like my mate. But then are you an imposter?" Roman asked straightforwardly. He didn't care if his words hurt her and he could feel his wolf clawing at the bond again.

It was obvious that his wolf was restless but Roman wasn't ready to respond to him.

"An imposter?" Adrianna replied with a big frown on her face.

"You literally brought me from the auction house. I was taken there by Lucy who claims to be the werewolf princess. So don't you dare call me an imposter." Adrianna yelled and Roman frowned.

"Lucy?" He asked but before he could probe further, he heard a voice in his head.

"Dianne is here!!" Lisa screamed through the mind link.
