After plummeting for what seemed like perpetuity, I finally felt my back splashing against the water. The liquid moisture gushed throughout my mouth and nose altogether. Gathering all the stability left, I managed to drag my body to the surface of the water, my breathing coming hard and roughly.

Just when my body was calming down, the massive creature emerged from the depths of the canyon. Its huge multicoloured tentacles were flapping in the water.
