Chapter 3

Chapter 3

"Me breaking the silence: Thank you."

"I take my bag which is on the ground and I hang it on my shoulder. With my arm, I always cover my chest. This man unfortunately ripped my top and I didn't put any support on the bottom. I'm embarrassed with the presence of Mister bipolar especially since he keeps staring at me."

"Noticing my condition to him: What's the matter with you? You're embarrassed ?"

"I do."

"Him: Why? Normally that shouldn't be the case. You are a prostitute. You're used to men looking at your private parts."

"Frankly I don't understand the problem this man has against prostitutes. I do not understand at all. It comes out of my pores."

"Me: What exactly do you have against prostitutes, tell me."

"Smiling nervously at him: Me? Have something against you? No. You are mistaken. I have nothing against people without any shame and any dignity."

"Me: You know what? You are pathetic."

"Him approaching closer to me: And you you are less than nothing. You're going to pay me for what you did to me yesterday. You crushed my balls and now I can barely walk and sit."

"Me bursting out laughing:...."

"Him getting more irritated: That makes you laugh, doesn't it?"

"Me laughing harder:......."

"The more I laugh, the angrier bipolar Mr. seems to be. He digs his fingers into my arm and presses hard, looking me in the eye. I scream in pain. I try to withdraw my arm but it risks hurting me."

"Me: Stop! You hurt me. Stop!"

"Talking to him through clenched teeth: Ah madam it hurts, right? You haven't seen anything."

"He pulls me and starts walking. I'm behind him begging him to let me go but this monster shows me no mercy. We arrive at his car. He opens the door and shoves me inside, then slams the door shut. I worry about my bleeding arm. He hurt me. When I straighten up, my hair hides my view. I sweep them aside and look in the car. This monster is already sitting in the driver's seat and is about to start. I'm so scared. Where is it taking me? I try to open the door but he has locked it. I start screaming for help."

"Him: Don't waste your time. The car is soundproofed. Nobody will hear you."

"Me collapsed: What!"

"Smiling at him: Yes. We are less clever inh.

"A T-shirt is in the car. He picks it up and throws it in my face.

"Him: Cover yourself with that."

"Without being asked, I wear it and it suddenly starts the car, which brings my chest forward even though I haven't put on a seat belt. He drives at high speed, moreover the road is clear. There is no car except ours. I sway in all directions. My head bangs against the glass."

"Me the supplicant: Please stop. Stop! Where are you taking me?"

"Him: In a forest."

"Me repeating with fear: In a forest? Why ? What do you want me to do in this forest. Let me go. HELP ! HELP !"

"Him: Save your voice."

"Me: Please sir. I'm sorry for what happened yesterday but please I'm begging you. Let me go."

"He glances at me before focusing on the steering wheel. We roll a little more then he squeezes to the side and stops for a moment. An urge to vomit suddenly takes me but I contained myself. I'm dizzy and dizzy."

"Him mocking: You don't speak anymore? You lost your tongue ?"

"Me abdicating: I'm sorry. Please let me go."

"Him laughing: No."

"He is about to restart the car when my phone rings. I search my bag and retrieve my trembling phone. It's Moussa calling me. I look at him as if to ask his permission to pick up. He gives me approval by blinking. I pick up afterwards."

"Me worried: Hello Moussa everything is fine I hope."

"Moussa out of breath: Sira come back immediately. The situation is serious."

"My heart beating a hundred miles an hour: What's going on Moussa? Has something happened to my daughter?"

"Moussa: Yes Sira. Please come quickly."

"Without containing myself, I burst into tears. No Mira. My daughter is everything to me. Earlier on the phone with Moussa, I heard the sound of sirens a bit like the siren of an ambulance. I died of worry. I can't imagine anything happening to him."

"Me in tears: Please sir. Take me home. I beg you."

"Puzzled him: What's going on?"

"Me trembling: My daughter. Something happened to my daughter.

"Him: Do you have a daughter?"

"Me: I don't think this is the time for questions please. Take me home."

"Him hurrying: Ok. Right away. Show me where you are."

"With difficulty, I manage to express myself and tell him the building in which my apartment is located. He quickly led me there. When we arrive I see a crowd of people gathered around the building which is on fire. Firefighters are on the scene trying to put out the fire. I felt my heart stop beating immediately. I hurriedly open the car door but it doesn't open. I completely forgot that this man locked the doors."

"Me screaming at him in tears: BUT OPEN THE DAMN DOOR."

"Him stressed: Yes yes sorry."

"Trembling, he deactivates the door locks. I run out towards the building but the firefighters prevent me from entering."

"Me devastated: NOOOOO! PLEASE. LET ME IN. MY DAUGHTER IS INSIDE."

"The firefighters holding me firmly: No ma'am, you can't come in. The fire is spreading more and more. You risk not coming back alive."

"Me shouting out loud: I DON'T MATTER! I DO NOT CARE ! MY DAUGHTER MIIRAAA!"

"Firefighters trying to calm me down: Madam, we understand your distress but please calm down."

"Me in all my states: How can you ask me to calm down when my daughter is in danger? I can't calm down. Nooooo!"

"The firefighters try to calm me down but it was a waste of time. After some effort, I managed to free myself from their arm and wanting to enter the building, I feel my feet leave the ground. Someone carried me from behind."

"Me struggling: Stop trying to prevent me from saving my daughter.

"_You remain calm Sira. Soft."

"I recognize that voice. It's the voice of a bipolar gentleman. So he carried me? He drops me to the ground. I turn around and my doubts are confirmed. It's really him."

"Him scolding me: What were you planning to do?"

"Me in tears: My daughter is inside. Please my daughter is there....."

Him taking me in his arms: I'll be fine. Let the firefighters do their job. Your daughter will have nothing. Stop worrying about it."

"He comforts me like a little child. I feel good in his strong, muscular arms. I feel like I'm protected from all danger, but at the same time it's a little weird that we're so close to each other. Anyway, now is not the time to think about all that. I'm already in pretty bad shape."

"Moussa coming to our level: Good evening Sira."

"Me: Snif good evening Moussa."

"I break away from the bipolar gentleman and cross my arms, wiping my face. I need to know what happened."

"Me: What happened Moussa?"

"Moussa: According to rumors, it's because of a blown cable. There was a general power cut throughout the building for a short time, then when the light came back on, it created a short circuit in one of the apartments. A cable caught fire and it spread throughout the building as you can see."

"I look up at the building and can see the extent of the damage. The fire is difficult to extinguish and continues to spread. I pray in my heart that the firefighters save my little Mira. If anything happens to him, I'll die."

"Me worried: They take a long time these firefighters. Where is my daughter?"

"Moussa reassuring me: Don't worry Sira. Allah will not allow anything to happen to him."

"I nod my head after Moussa's words. He leaves me in the company of the bipolar gentleman and approaches the firefighters. We remain silent without saying anything. He stayed with me for about ten minutes. He consoled me from time to time. I really appreciate his gesture of keeping me company while I'm feeling down. It proves he has a heart."

"Him looking at his watch: It's really long there. What are they doing ?"

"Desperate me: I don't understand. I don't understand why they aren't there yet."

"As I speak, the firefighters who had left to pick up my daughter came down with children. I look among them but I don't see Mira. Why didn't they bring my daughter back?"

"Me in tears: Where is my daughter? Where is she ?

"Firefighter: Everyone has already left the building. There is not anybody.

"Me grabbing the collar of his coat: What do you mean there's no one left? What are you telling me here? What are his nonsense?."

"Firefighter removing my hands: Madame. Calm down. Your daughter was not there. I'm sorry."

"This sentence echoes in my head several times. I back up and drop to the ground. My tears don't stop flowing. I feel my world falling apart. Mira no. My little princess. A hand rests on my shoulder. It's that of the bipolar gentleman."

"Him: Don't worry. I'll go get her."

"Surprised me: Are you serious?"

"Him: Yes. I'm going to take this last chance to find her alive.

"Me getting up and throwing myself around his neck: Thank you thank you very much. Thank you so much."

"Him: It's nothing. Don't thank me because I haven't brought it back yet."

"Me: Thanks anyway."

"Him: Which apartment is it?"

"Me: Apartment #25."

"Him addressing the firefighters: I'll go."

"Firefighters: Are you sure sir?"

"Him: Yes."

"Firefighters: Ok good luck."

"The firefighters gave him a helmet, an oxygen mask and a suit but he refused to wear their suit. I watch him leave with teary eyes. Allah help him."

"Don't ask me why because I don't know either. I don't know where all this courage comes from to risk my life like this, especially for people I barely know. Obviously, I am surprised myself. I entered the building. Everything was falling apart. Only the stairs were still intact. The smoke blinded me and entered my nostrils and my mouth. I sucked it into my lungs. Which made me cough. Apartment number 25 was on the second floor. The door was broken. Surely it was broken by the firefighters who had passed by a few minutes earlier. I grope inside, paying attention to the collapsing ceiling."

"Me coughing: Hey, is anyone there? Hey baby are you there? Where are you hiding ?"

"I go to the bedrooms. She wasn't inside the first one. The second is already consumed. There is only fire inside. I let a tear fall. Maybe the little one was in that room. I came back into the living room. I do not see anyone. It is already too late. I turn back to come out when my hearing picks up slight coughing. It looks like someone is coughing and that someone is nothing but a child. I turn around and look everywhere. She is there but where? I stay still hoping she coughs again and that's what happened. This time I managed to identify the source of the voice. It looks like it's behind the big sofa that faces the window. I rush over and see her lying on the ground in a state of unconsciousness. She ran out of air. I placed the oxygen mask on his face and carried him in my arms as I ran towards the exit. As I crossed the threshold of the door, a brick fell from the ceiling and shaved the flesh of my back. I felt the pain deep within my being."

"Me screaming in pain: AAAAAHHH!"

"I hurried to be outside with the little one in my arms. As soon as they saw me coming, help rushed towards me. They took the little one back from my arms and made her sleep in the ambulance to give her treatment."

"Sira throwing herself on my neck: Thank you, thank you very much. God bless you."

"Me screaming in pain: AAAHH!"

"When she threw herself on my neck, she accidentally touched my wound. It hurt like hell."

"Worried Sira: Is everything okay? What is happening ?"

"Me: No, it's nothing serious. I just hurt myself but don't worry."

"Sira: Let me see."

"Me turning and showing him the wound:....."

"Sira in shock: Oh my God! Come. Follow me. I'll fix it for you."

"Me: No it's fine. Go to your daughter instead. She needs you."

"Sira insisting: No, let me heal you."

"Me: Since I'm telling you it's nothing then don't worry."

"Sira: Ok. Thank you again. Many thanks."

"Me a little embarrassed: It's good. It's okay."

"Sara: Thank you."

"She ran to the ambulance and climbed into it to see her daughter. She was talking with the doctors and worried about the little one. It is obvious that she loves her daughter very much. At least there's one good thing about her life as a prostitute. Without being noticed, I left the place and put the pedals for the house. Throughout the journey, I was careful not to lean against the seat at the risk of hurting myself with my injury."

**********

"Me: (shouting) Aïïïeeee mom."

"My mother scolding me: How did you do this to yourself, tell me."

"Me: It was an accident. I tripped over a rock and fell."

"My mother: Take it easy baby."

"Me: Thank you mom."

"My mother cleaned the wound and covered it with a pansy. It was painful but it's better now. I found the pretext according to which I would have fallen and she believed me."

"My mother putting away the care kit: Hey there! I stopped the bleeding."

Me: Thank you mom you are the best."

"I lay down and rested my head on my mother's legs. I missed them so much. I feel like a baby with her. I love her more than anything."

"My mother stroking my head: How was Washington?"

"Me smiling: Good but no place on earth is better without you."

"My moved mother: Oh my baby. Thank you my love."

"Me: Please mom. By the way, where is Djélika?"

"My mother: She went to her fiancé."

"Me straightening up with wide eyes: Since when does she have a fiancé?"

"My mother laughing: You think everyone is like you."

"Me lying down on her legs: No seriously, I didn't know."

"My mother: Djélika has one financed. A very cute young man. One day we are going to have a dinner party and you are going to know it."

"Me: Alright."

"My mother: And you, my darling? What about your girlfriend or fiancée?"

"Me: I don't have a girlfriend, even less a mom fiancée. I am single."

"My mother: With all this beauty and all this wealth? Are the girls blind or what?"

"Me: It's me myself who doesn't want mom. I already have the woman of my life and it's you. I no longer need other women."

"My mother: I don't refuse but you need a woman who will help you consciously manage your money because you are wasting your money and above all you need a woman to love you and make you children ."

"Me: I'm not interested mom. I am fine as I am."
