My mom is calling me for the nth time right now asking me when am i going to reach the resort for engagement.

I answered her call

For god's sake mom stop calling me i told you i am stuck in traffic!

It is not like it is my engagement.

I said agitated.

Dhruvv you need to be here as early as possible. There is a problem over here.

Saying this she hung up. In background i could hear someone yelling.

What the hell is going on over there? I thought.

"How much time will it take,mihir"

I asked my driver.

"Traffic is clearing sir, we'll be there in 10 mins" He answered.

"Thank god. I don't understand what problem is she talking about?" I told him confused.

"Maybe your family members are taunting her about your absence sir."

Yeah.. This is because my mom has divorced my so called father Rajveer Arora years ago. So the relatives need reason to pick on her.

God! I hope Sid is handling it. The last thing i want is seeing my mom upset.

I am very sure Ankit will be irritating my mom about my absence. He is an ass. I don't understand how my uncle and aunt are such kind people and their son is an absolute prick.

In no time we reached the venue and i was walking towards my room when i heard yelling from a room.

The whole resort is booked under Arora's . Who is yelling?

I went towards the room and opened the door and saw Ankit yelling at my mom at the top of his lungs

" Why do you fucking care about what will happen to Priya? I am your family and you should be thinking about my good." He said getting angry.

When Uncle came before him and said

"You can't talk to Neeta like that. Where are your manners?"

"I don't care about my manners. I said i don't want to get married to her and that is my final decision. If Neeta aunt is concerned soo much about Priya than she has 2 sons. Any one can get married to her." Ankit said raising his voice.

"I never raised you to be like this. You decide to break this marriage today when it is your engagement day"

Aunt said in angry tone.

"Because i never knew until today that she was —

Then aunt slapped him across his face hard.

"I won't listen anything against her" Aunt declared.

"What is going on?" I asked confused.

"Ohh.. You are here Mr. Busy Arora."

He said mocking me.

"I am not marrying her.Dad you've always told me Dhruvv is better than me then why not let him have her huh?"

By saying this he stomped to god knows where.

I looked at a corner Priya's mom was crying hysterically and her dad having his jaw clenched and looking very furious.

"Ankit is refusing to marry priya because of some past incident which happened with her in which she is not at fault"

Said mom disappointed.

" The girl and her family will be devastated and not to mention how Arora's will be questioned about the marriage." She further explained.

"Mom calm down. I am sure we can make him understand whatever it is."

I said to mom.

Mom shook her head in negative. " He is hell bent on not understanding anything." She said.

"Dhruvv can I ask you a favour?" Uncle came forward and asked me.

Shitt! I think i know what is coming my way.

"Yess... Uncle" I said hoping he is not going to ask me to marry priya.

Because if he does i cannot refuse him.

Aunt and uncle have always been supportive to my mom during the divorce.

I was a kid back then. They have done everything for us. I can't refuse them.

"Marry her" He said.

I was stilled. I couldn't react.

"Uncle don't take me wrong but i am not ready to get married. And what about Priya?"

I said hoping that he would think twice when i mentioned Priya.

"I can explain her if you are ready" Her Dad piped in.

I just let out a frustrated sigh.

I can't get married. I don't have time for feelings and bullshit. I have learned it through a tougher route and i am not going back there. But i can't refuse because it will bring up alot of questions to Arora's.

I was hoping Priya would refuse to this and so i said

"I am ready"

My Uncle and aunt looked relieved by my decision.

My mom came to me and gave me a proud smile and said

"You made me proud."

I just nodded not knowing what to say.

Soon i was getting ready for engagement.

Probably today will be the first time i will see her and that is our engagement day.

This is fucking great!

I got ready and headed towards the lawns where engagement is held.

What if she expects a lot from me? I just hope she rejects me!

I was brought out of my thoughts when i heard soft music playing in the background and then i looked up to see her wearing a pink lehenga and looking absolutely beautiful.

What did i just say she looks beautiful?

I've lost my mind.

So she did not reject me. Ofcourse. Who would. I am pretty sure it is for money or looks maybe.

I went down the stairs and offered her my hand but she was looking at me with a blank expression.

I just rolled my eyes.

I don't have all the time in the world for her!

"For how much time are you going to keep me as in your husband to be waiting?" I whispered.

She looked shocked but then covered her expression.

I must say she is good at hiding emotions eh!

But why did she looked shocked?

Is there any chance that she is not knowing that Ankit rejected her?

She gave her hand in mine and we were on stage.

She was busy glaring someone behind me when the priest said that we should exchange rings.

I suppressed my laugh because i knew very well who is she glaring at. Ofcourse it is Ankit.

But she looks murderous right now.

Ohh.. now the ohh so great Dhruvv Arora who can scare people just by looking at them is scared of a 5'4".

My conscience mocked.

Soon we exchanged our rings. When i slid the ring in her finger i looked into her eyes and she looked like she was going to tear up any second.

Why the hell are you noticing her eyes?

The most dreadful part came where we had to attend guests and smile at them.

I looked at priya and she had a constant fake smile plastered to her face and looked really annoyed.

When the guests left we both plopped on the couch and she said

"God! can't they see how tired we get of the whole smiling thing."

I just looked at her bewildered. This is the first time she talked to me.

Even her eyes went wide when she realised it.

Woww... I hear her voice after getting engaged to her! Great!!

Then she looked at her parents and very angrily said

"We need to talk" stood up went towards ankit, pointed her index finger towards him and said "You too."

Woahh....Her mood changes in seconds!

Her anger was absolutely justified if i would've been betrayed like this by now the whole place would've been ruined.

I must give it to her she handled it quite maturely.

I don't know why i wanted to go with her because i know how low Ankit can stoop.

One word against her and he is going to have it from me.

Suddenly getting protective huh?

I just ignored my inner voice and followed her.
