Chapter 1

Chapter 1

''Nicky, please take an order from table number 2.'' a Middle-aged woman said to a young girl who was cleaning the table after customers left.

''Okay, Lydia.'' She smiled sweetly and proceeded with taking an order from a particular customer. She took out her notepad and went to the table.

Her heartbeat quickened when she saw the person, but even if she didn't want to go, she knew that she can't disobey her boss's words. Slowly she made her way towards him with a notepad shaking slightly in her hands.

Once she stood in front of him, she took her time to admire him.

''Hello. What would you like to order?'' She smiled at him even if he didn't look at her.

''Black coffee.'' He answered looking at his phone.

''Right away.'' She answered chirpy and went straight to the bartender who was also her friend.

''Willy make one cup of black coffee, please.'' She smiled. William a.k.a Willy winked at the brunette and took the milk out.

Meanwhile, a few more customers entered the cafe. Her colleague Milla served new customers as Nicol waited for his coffee. Willy was quick to finish as he knew Nicol's little crush on this big buff man. He still didn't understand why would his innocent little friend fall in love with this bad scary guy.

In the small religious town, they lived in this man was known as a drug addict. He was despised because of his look. He was covered with tattoos and piercings. He owned his tattoo studio as he was a tattoo artist. People didn't understand that mentality. But somehow Nicol was drawn to him.

She got nervous as she was approaching him with a cup. Her hands trembled a little while putting his coffee in front of him. He noticed and looked up to meet with the brunette beauty. She had tan and smooth skin, as in babies. When she met his eyes, she felt like her heart will jump out of her chest.

Nicol surely got rosy cheeks after getting caught by his eyes.

''Here is your order Sir. Enjoy it.'' She smiled a bit before rushing to her friend.

He was still mesmerized by her look. He thought she is the most beautiful girl he ever met and he met a lot of them. But something was different about her, something so alluring that he couldn't explain.

He shook his thought away about this particular girl he barely saw a few times. Little did he know she was always serving him when he came into this cafe. But he never noticed her. He was too busy making calls and writing emails to his clients. He was well known in his state for making amazing tattoos.

He was a busy man and nobody acknowledged his work except his clients. People thought he is possessed by some demons and that's why he looked like that. They didn't understand he was a piece of art.

The buff man left the cafe and headed to his studio. It was still morning as there were just a few people early for work. As he entered his studio, he saw his friend who was also working with him. These two were friends since they finished high school.

''Hi, Alex.'' A skinny guy with just a sleeve tattoo waved to him.

''Morning Jackson. Who is first?'' Alex asked while putting his black apron on him.

''Mr. Wilkis will come in 10 minutes. He wanted his daughter's birth date near his collarbone.''

''That's nice.'' Alex smiled showing his dimples.

He cleaned his supplies for his customer. Just when he finished, the door opened and revealed a man in his late thirties.

''Hello, Mr. Wilkis. You can go to the back room. Alexander is waiting for you.'' Jackson pointed to the door.

''Thank you.'' The man said and left his jacket on a hanger.

He said hello to Alex before sitting down. The man removed his shirt and positioned himself comfortably on a seat. Alex did whatever was necessary before starting his art. After two hours, Alex was satisfied with his work. The date was beautifully engraved under the man's collarbone. He wrapped it up after showing Mr. Wilkis the final results. The older man was very satisfied with Alex's doing.

The man paid the bill and bid goodbye to the two men. Alex proceeded to clean his material. He took a rest when the door opened and the young boy entered his studio. To Alex he was familiar and how couldn't he be familiar when he is a bartender that made him coffee every morning.

''Hello.'' Willy smiled at the two of them.

''Hello, how may we help you?'' Jackson asked him.

''I came here to make an appointment. I would like to make a tattoo.''

''Of course. Come here.''

Willy approached the counter while Jackson was taking out a notebook. He looked over to it and saw that Friday morning was free.

''So Friday morning is free. If that's okay?''

''Yeah, perfect.''

''Can you give me some information?''

''Okay.''

''Name?''

''Wiliam Green.''

''Age?''

''22.''

And with the phone number, they finished. Willy was happy that he will finally make a tattoo. He wanted to make a cross on his inner arm. He made a deal with Nicol that she will come with him when he is making a tattoo.

Nicol finished her shift an hour ago and went home. She lived with her parents that were an old-fashioned couple but she loved them anyway even if they were strict.

Her family was religious. Nicol herself loved God and went to church every Sunday and holiday. Alex went to church too but people were always giving him almost disgusted stares. He didn't pay them attention at all, because he didn't come for people in the church. He started going to the church after something big happened that turned his life upside down.

He wasn't the same Alexander as before. He was better Alexander. And Nicol probably felt that side of him that made her fall in love with him. Of course, he didn't know or feel anything she felt and she is too shy to even make the first move.
