“Rain’s stopping.” I said it against Daniel’s chest while we lay tangled in my bed with the sheets shoved down around our hips.
It was almost eleven and the heavy drumming on the roof had faded to a light drip from the gutters.
The power was still out but the storm had finally worn itself down. The house sat quiet around us.
