My heart tingled vigorously when he said that he wanted me to fall for him. For a fleeting second, I was stunned, speechless and even when I opened my mouth to argue that I’d never fall for him, no words came out.
“You mean that you aren’t returning to where you came from?” I shifted my weight to the other foot. “I don’t think Mama Audrey will allow that,” I warned, hoping that he’d buy it. Although, it was obvious that he had found a way to get into her heart and Mama was willing to do whatever he wanted.
