My fingers were safely enclosed in Vladimir’s as we steered away from the garage of his brother’s house to the patio which would lead us into the main house. My body trembled intermittently mainly out of fear and a few times from excitement.

I decided to feed my eyes with the grandeur of this place, hoping a sense of familiarity would seep into me. Maybe it did, but I was too distracted to notice.
