There was a knock on the door, pulling Leah out of her dazed state.

It was a maid she had never seen before, not to talk of how suspicious she acted.

"My lady, I am Clara from the neighbouring red moon pack, I was sent by my Alpha to pass a message"

The red moon pack!

She thought the Alpha of the red moon pack had abandoned their pack after learning about their defeat but she guess not.

The Red moon pack had been their secret ally for decades but there were no signs of them when their pack was ambushed, so she thought they didn't want to defend a pack that might end up dragging them into the same situation.

Leah allowed her to come in after making sure no one saw her enter.

"So what does he want?" She asked in skepticism.

"First, Our Alpha apologies that he wasn't able to offer his help when your pack was ambushed. He had learnt of what has become of the midnight pack and has a plan to get you all out of misery, he wants to have a talk with you" Clara spoke quickly in hushed tones.

"But I can't leave here without people finding out"

"You would have to find a way, you just need to go into the woods which isn't too far from here"

Leah contemplated it, it was uncanny how they suddenly wanted to help but considering how she had little choices she could only cling unto hope so she agreed to go.

She knew the Alpha of the red moon pack was interested in her but she never thought he would really help because of his feelings but she trusted him enough to decide it wasn't another trap.

This was the least she could do for her own pack, the sun was setting and she needed to check up on Lexa.

Upon getting to the multiple cells, she took note of the strange glances everyone was casting towards her, especially those from her pack who were locked up, they glanced at her with what looked like doubts and maybe anger?

It was all sudden but her thoughts were interrupted when she found Lexa at the far end of the cell.

Her face was finally gaining some colour and she opened her eyes...

"My lady" Lexa struggled to sit upright.

"Lay back, you are too weak to be all chatty" Leah spoke sternly, watching her force a smile.

"You don't look too good, can't they allow me to attend to you at least?" Lexa asked.

Leah's heart tightened at lexa's outburst, she looked even worse than she did but she still insisted on wanting to serve her.

"You don't have to do that anymore, I no longer deserve your respect Lexa, you don't need to bow before me. I couldn't even protect anyone" Leah's fingers clenched at the thought of how she had hidden in there alone without making sure her own personal maids were safe.

"It's not your fault" Lexa consoled.

Leah just nodded and told her that everything would work and they would be safe again even if she didn't believe in her own words.

"I heard the Alpha ordered the slaughter of all of our healers, d- do you think my sister is..." Lexa halted in her words, taking large breath scared that what she was about to say might be true.

Lexa's sister was their pack's chief healer, no one has seen her since the ambush and Karen said all the healers were killed.

She couldn't even imagine the pain Lexa was in now, her sister was her only family just as her father was hers.

"But we are all so innocent" Lexa worded in between her sobs.

"I'll get you out of here" Leah sniffed in the tears threatening to fall.

It was dark when Clara fetched her, she dressed up in Clara's maid clothes and was able to get past the guards on duty.

It was quiet out there in the woods, She saw no sign of camping or the Alpha she was supposed to meet.

She suddenly wondered if it was a trap when a hand on her back jolted her from her thoughts.

Leah turned in time to catch sight of the amused smile sitting on Alpha Fred's lips.

"Alpha Fred" she greeted.

"Lady Leah, you still look as beautiful as the last time we met" he complimented but she only felt uncomfortable as the situation was quite not the time to speak with charm.

She nodded and continued, "You wanted to meet"

"Yes, I offer my sincere apologies towards what happened to your pack, I was too late to come to your aid" he looked sincere.

"Your father..."

"They killed him" Leah told him, holding back the tears that threatened to leave her eyes at the thought of her father.

"I'm so sorry" he apologized again but it wasn't what she wanted to hear, there was no time and If she got caught it would only bring more trouble.

"As you know, I can't possibly wage war against the crescent moon pack because they are more powerful but..." He seemed to hesitate and looked at her thoughtfully.

"Please speak your mind to me, as far as it would save my people I will do it"

He sighed but continued, "It is obvious that Alpha Greg wouldn't release any of your people and neither can we fight against him but we can win if someone he trusts completely and knows all of his secrets is on our side"

"Betraying one's Alpha is a serious crime that I don't think is a step any one that close to him will take"Leah replied after thinking about it.

His beta had looked like he would rather sacrifice himself over his Alpha's safety and Alpha greg was too cold to be close to any other person she had met.

"But he is not your Alpha" Fred suddenly said his eyes were watching her.

"What do you mean?" Leah was confused.
