Chapter 2

Chapter 2

That day we cut training short and we went home only to find out that mum was in labour and there was no one around. Dad had travelled a few days ago and was supposed to come back tomorrow in order to be present for the birth of the twins but I guess the twins could no longer wait. Dad had been contacted and he came back that same day, just in time to see mum push out Selene and Selena.

This was five years ago.

And that wasn't the only time something life altering had happened after id been restless or apprehensive. I walked to the closed doors that were preventing me from getting out of this hell hole.

"Alexandria, get back here this instant" Even though my mum was not shouting, I could still hear her thanks to the enhanced hearing of were wolves. Reluctantly, I walked over to my mum who was with Selene and Selena; my five-year-old sisters.

"Can you watch your sisters whiles I talk to the elders?" she asked.

"Sure. Why not?"

"Thanks" I watched her retreating back before I turned to my adorable little sisters. Selene was the older of the two. She had black hair with blue eyes just like her twin, Selena.

"When do you think we can get out?" Selena questioned.

"When will the fight be over?" Selena also asked. I wish I knew the answer to their questions. I crouched to their level.

"Why don't you go and play with your friends while we wait" The twins scurried off to the other side of the room.

Tentatively, I retraced my steps to the door and hurried on out, ignoring the cries to get back inside. I know I will have to pay for this later but until then...

I run to the battle field and the more I got there, the stronger the scent of blood and the tearing of flesh and snapping of bones. I walked around the engaged wolves and run to the trees, where I climbed one so that I could witness the fight.

A growl from below made me look down and there standing on all fours was a huge dark brown to black wolf.

I have no idea what happened because one minute I was on the tree and the next I was on my way down. I fell on my behind. Hard!

Ouch. That hurts.

This wolf was a beta judging from the power emanating from him. I stood still with my hands up in an I surrender. The wolf just growled and bared his canines. I slowly got up and winced from the sting I felt. His eyes were watching my every movement.

I wasn't going to run because I will be no match for him and two, I will not make it alive. I glanced over at the unknown beta and from the concentrated look on his face he was mind linking someone- most probably his Alpha.

Just right! Now I have to deal with another wolf. I thought before it- I was going to meet the Alpha of Bloodhound Pack.

Shit! I'm doomed!

I knew I shouldn't have left the safety of the tunnels. Why couldn't I have been a good girl and just stayed in there? Why did I not even listen when the others called me back? I mean I could have prevented all this.

His scent wafted into my nostrils even before he was ten feet near me. Power and authority radiated from him in waves; almost making me want to bow at his feet.

For some unknown reason, my wolf was acting strange. She had been acting strange as a result of the foreboding feelings I had been experiencing but then she had been a bit docile. Now, she was restless and acting up I couldn't quite understand.

What at all could be the matter?!

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't realize that he had covered the distanced between us and was just about a feet or two away from me. Standing right in front of me is no other than the famous Alpha Nicolai Sharpe!

"You shouldn't be here." His uttered and his voice washed over me, cocooning me in a bliss I couldnt quite explain. It wasnt overly deep but just the right tone such that you would get flustered if he spoke in a tone much softer and lower, seductive even.

Shaking my head to rid it of the dirty thoughts I was having, I still kept my gaze fixed on the ground. I refused to lift my head while an Alpha-the most feared alpha- was talking to me. in the were community it was considered disrespectful not to look up when being addressed by an alpha but I couldnt give a damn.

Call me crazy but I just didn't want to look up at the Alpha Nicolai Sharpe.

I heard a growl and before I knew it Alpha was in front of me, closing whatever space was left between us. In such close proximity, I felt something I had never felt before. It was an intense feeling that threatened to overwhelm me but I didnt, couldn't give in.

"Look at me when I am speaking to you!" He used his Alpha tone on me and I hesitantly looked at him. I was met with the intense gaze of grey eyes belonging to none other than Alpha Nicolai Sharpe. But it wasn't the mesmerizing grey eyes of the alpha or the seemingly sculpted and handsome face that had my heart pounding recklessly. It was the revelation that came with staring into each others eyes.

I gasped.

Mate! Mate! Mate!
