It turned out that I was afraid not of the crazy woman holding a nail to my neck, nor of the cliff edge where the sea breeze whimpered, but of the man I had always told myself I had loved so much dying in front of me, and that I was among the reasons for his death.
Grief paralyzed my nerves and I could only see Eric's blurred figure through eyes drowned in tears, his abdomen a bright red.
I was thrown down, but couldn't push Eric who pounced on me. he seemed fine because he was moving so fast, but I knew there was a cliff behind...
