The following morning, by the time I was leaving the house with Ted and our chauffeur, George wasn’t back yet. But I didn’t care, nor did I bother phoning him. I just felt sad and bitter that I had been plunged into this kind of life. This wasn’t the life I had envisioned for myself ten years ago. Funny how people envied me and wished to be in my shoes.
