My vision blurred faster than I could blink, with it a dull hammering pain behind my eyelids and forehead taking charge. One moment I could hear the alpha’s gasp of disbelief, the next a loud continuous ringing filled my ears. I writhed on the bed, my chest contracting while my throat seemed to close in on me.
