I felt my cheeks heat up as I was embarrassed when I heard Rosa’s words.

Why would we need to have sex?

“The purpose of a marking is to signal the mutual possession of mates, which is based on matebond,” Rosa explained as if she could read my mind. “So, to fake a mark, there need to be at least some “intimate interactions” between the two of you to make your bodies feel the emotional presence in order to show traces of the fake mark.”
